BRIEF
Three IT professionals were keen on building an economical farm house on outskirts of Mumbai.
APPROACH
Security being one of the biggest concern of the client, the house was designed with minimal openings on the facade, hence the central open space - "The Bhramsthan" was introduced to cater all the living spaces around.
THE DESIGN
A simple, blank white painted brick box,with sloping roof and a central open space"Bhramsthan" was proposed to the client. The empty open to sky space - 'The Courtyard' ties all the living spaces around. Brick 'jali' wall around the structure provides security to the structure. Hierarchy of the spaces are maintained by providing two layers of sloping roofs.
